Kenneth Allan Mahon, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 4, 2017 in Sellersburg, Indiana. Mr. Mahon was born on May 12, 1932 to the late Wilmer and Mildred Mahon in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. He was a retired electrician and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany, Indiana. Mr. Mahon honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW post 3281 located in New Albany. In his spare time Mr. Mahon spent many hours fishing. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Mahon, his brothers, Bud Mahon, Richard “Tiny” Mahon, and his sisters, Katherine Dunn and Madeline Gocthschalk.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Magdalene Mahon of Sellersburg, Indiana, his sons, Kenny (Kim) Mahon, Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky, Stan (Julie) Farrel of New Albany, Mark (Janelle) Farrel of Sharon Ctr., Ohio, Randall (Susan) Farrel of Ringgold, Georgia, Daugherts, Pam (Dan) Miller of Marietta, Georgia, Carla Farrel of Georgetown, Kentucky, grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Aimee, Alissa, Callie, Adam, Jennifer, Carly, Sarah, Erin, Allison, Samantha, Alex, Jordy, Megan, Jackson, Mattie, Ashley, and Emily. Mr. Mahon also leaves behind 21 great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will take place from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday and on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Online condolences can be expressed at:
