Sallie J. Grim

Sallie Grim,70, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on April 21,2021 at her home after a short battle with cancer. She was born in New Albany, IN on November 1, 1950 to the late Vic and Jane Gunterman. Sallie was a 1968 graduate of Silver Creek High School.

After sending her youngest off to school Sallie headed to school herself. In 1984 she started her career with the New Albany Consolidated School Corporation retiring in 2018 after 33 years. Sallie spent 28 of those years watching the wonderful staff and children at Mt Tabor Elementary grow. After retirement and even before she enjoyed running into former parents, students, and co workers while out shopping or hitting the community yards sales with her longtime friend Linda Barnes. In the 3 years since retirement Sallie has enjoyed spending time with family, taking rides with Don looking for deer, and being the best granny.

Sallie has so many family and friends to cherish her memory. Her husband of 47 years Donald Grim. Her children Tammy(Jeff) Buchanan, Shawn(Sheena)Grim, Dan Grim all from New Albany Terri(Doug) Wise from Vincennes,IN, John(Mee) Grim, Michael(Laura)Grim Louisville, KY and Bill Grim of Florida. Sallie loved and adored her 13 grandchildren Kimberly(Travis), Cassidy, Brandon, Kassidy, Michael, Claire, Hannah, Gerard, Kendall, Taylor, Ashlee and Tyler and 4 great grandchildren Kadience, Isabelle, Dean, and Isabella and her brother,  Rick Gunterman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
