Ronald Conlen Obituary

Ronald C. Conlen, 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Memphis on Sunday, December 27, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 18, 1949 to the late Charles Conlen and Anna Rogers in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Ronald honorably served his country in the United States Army and retired from Phillip Morris after 30 years of service to the company. He served on the Sellersburg Volunteer Fire Department for 32 years and was a captain on the Memphis Indiana Fire Department (station 2). Ronald was preceded in death by his step-father, Deward Plummer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy Conlen of Memphis,  his son, Chris Conlen of Underwood, Indiana, his daughter, Susan Orberson (Norman) of Henryville, his brothers, Tim Conlen (Penny) of Sellersburg, Chuck Conlen of Sellersburg, Scott Conlen (Brandi) of Henryville,  and his grandchildren, Faith Conlen, Hunter Orberson, Tyler Orberson, Peyton Conlen and Makinlee Conlen. Ronald also leaves behind 3 great-grandchildren, Waylon, Branson and Declan.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. A Private interment will be held on Thursday at Silver Creek Cemetery in Sellersburg.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made to: Crusade for Children Co. Sellersburg Fire Department (426 E. Utica Street Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) or Hospaurs of Southern Indiana (502 Hausfeldt Ln. Jeffersonville, Indiana).
