Norman A. Herzog, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Silver Crest in New Albany, Indiana. He was born on March 29, 1929 to the late Ralston and Vivian Herzog (Stoppel) in Lansing Michigan. Norman honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from General Finance in Lansing Michigan to pursue his passion as a furniture maker. Norman was a member of the Sunnyside Assembly of God Church in Jeffersonville. He was an avid player of table tennis, playing into his late 80’s at the Beechmont Community Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Norman enjoyed playing Croquet, Frisbee and fishing in his younger years. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Jeanne Treadwell and Margaret Haan.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Maxine Herzog of New Albany, his sons, Emil Herzog (Joy) of Owensboro, Kentucky, Jeff Herzog of Salina Kansas, Mark Herzog of Georgetown, Indiana and Eric Herzog (Kathy) of Vero Beach, Florida. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hosparus Health of Southern Indiana and to the staff of The Villages of Historic Silvercrest of New Albany for the care they provided.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
