Martha Jane (Sullivan) Everitt

Martha Jane Everitt, a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 88 years of life passed away peacefully on Monday, December 6th 2021 in North Fort Myers, Florida. Born in Blackwell, Georgia on January 5, 1933 to Walter and Cleo Sullivan (Medley), Jane married her husband Maxwell Everitt, Jr. in March of 1951 in New Hanover, North Carolina. After moving to southern Indiana, Jane worked at the Black Powder Manufacturing Facility of the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown for 29 years. After retirement, Jane and Max moved to North Fort Myers, Florida where she enjoyed playing cards, solving puzzles and attending the local United Methodist Church.

We will remember Jane for her loving nature, her devotion to family, and her occasional, endearing stubbornness. Jane was preceded by her husband Maxwell Everitt, Jr. and her sister Sara Cox. Jane leaves behind her brother, William Sullivan, a loving daughter, Teresa Trobaugh of Germantown, Maryland, her two cherished grandsons, Victor Lewis of Eugene, Oregon and James Lewis of Vancouver, British Columbia, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A private funeral service will be held on Saturday with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. The family requests that all visitors wear masks.
