Gordon Allen Dennis, 56, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Hosparus In Patient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky after his battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Gordon beat the odds by a long shot, he was given 14 months to live 6 ½ years ago. He was born on February 9, 1964 to the late Carl and Mary Dennis in Louisville. Gordon was a retired auto worker and a proud member of the The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agricultural Implement Workers of America, better known as the United Auto Workers.
He was the ultimate sports fan he could always be found cheering for his two favorite teams, the Miami Dolphins and the Louisville Cardinals. Gordon’s passions in life included camping, fishing, bowling, golfing and painting houses, but above all he loved spending quality time with his family and friends. Gordon was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Wright and by his 3 sisters.
Survivors include his sons, Ayden Gramm, Andrew Dennis (Mary), daughters, Marianne Dennis (Lucas), Catherine Dorman, one brother, two sisters and his faithful companion, Ali his loving dog. Gordon also leaves behind one granddaughter to cherish his memory, Violet Dennis.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday September 19, 2020 from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with cremation to follow per Gordon’s wishes.
