Frances Irene (Noonan) Foley

A funeral Mass for Frances Irene Foley, 90, of Sellersburg, Indiana will be at 11:00 am Saturday June 9, 2018 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, St Paul Chapel, 216 Schellers Ave., Sellersburg, Indiana with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.  She died Tuesday May 29, 2018, at home with her family.

Frances was born March 13, 1928 in Boston, MA.  She spent her summers in Cape Cod where she met her husband of 64 years Leo Foley.  They were married in 1949 at the Star of Sea Catholic Church in Squantum, MA.  Frances graduated from the Simmons College of Nursing in Boston, MA in 1952.  Along with being the mother of seven children she worked at the Goddard Hospital, Stoughton MA, Green Valley Nursing Home and Ivy Tech in New Albany, IN. 

She enjoyed a full life with many friends and travelled the world with her husband.  Frances enjoyed card games.  She was an avid bridge player and still played in ladies clubs late into her life.  She was also a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and in her later years would watch games almost every day during the season.

Her greatest passion was caring for and enjoying her seven children (six girls and one boy), 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl  Hardison,  Debora (Noah) Johnson,  Maureen (Jody) Melton, Cynthia (Michael) Allen, Nancy Stoess, Denise Libbert and son Leo (Michelle) Foley Jr. grandchildren, Scott (Erin) Hardison, Courtenay Spencer, Michael Johnson, Gregory Johnson, Meagan (Derek) Koenemen, Jill (Trenton) Cheney, Mark (Whitney) Melton, Rev. Nicholas Allen, Travis Stoess, Todd (Casey) Stoess, Bryan (Megan) Rohrbacher, Edwin Libbert, Ryan and Brittany Foley,  great grandchildren, Kenzie, Chloe and Bodhi Rohrbacher,  BreAnna and Brycen Johnson, Maia, Grant and Ellie Koenemen, Tyler and Samantha Spencer, Noah, Angelina, and Luke Johnson, Quinn and Leo Hardison, Logan, Sophia and Liam Stoess, Ben and Addie Cheney, Charlotte Melton, brother, Thomas (Mai-Mai) Noonan, brothers-in-law Peter Michael Johnson and Charles Foley, sister-in-law Regina Foley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Helen Noonan, husband Leo, sister-in-law Jayne Foley Johnson, son-in-law George Hardison, son-in-law Ed Libbert, and niece Diane Noonan Giordani.
