Dickie Wayne Richardson, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at his home in Sellersburg with his wife at his side. He was born on January 5, 1954 to the late Robert and Ruby Richardson (Pipkins) in Louisville, Kentucky. Dickie retired from the mining industry. He worked for liters quarry (Atkins Plant) as a loader operator and Estes Trucking as a Tri Axle dump truck operator. He thoroughly enjoyed building muscle cars, boats, motorcycles and anything he could get to go fast. Dickie loved spending time with his family in the Smokey Mountains. His grandchildren were his pride and Joy. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Richardson, by his sisters, Helen Flaherty and Tina Richardson, by his sister-in-law Mattie Richardson and by his best friend, John King.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sharon Richardson of Sellersburg, his sons, Tommy Lancaster of Charlestown, Stacey Tompkins (Teslin) of Sellersburg, David Johnson (Angie) of New Middletown, Indiana, his daughter, Donna Blassingame (Scotty) of Trumann, Arkansas, his brother, Jerry Richardson of Fredericksburg, Indiana, grandchildren, Fletcher Tompkins, Alexandria Coin, Kaylee Whitlock, Kristen Barr, Tyler Hutchison, Brittani Simpson and Kayelend Johnson. Dickie also leaves behind great grandchildren, nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Memphis, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
