Roger Dale Bagshaw

Roger Bagshaw, 75, of Sellersburg, formerly of Henryville, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany.

He was born in Salem, Indiana on February 12, 1943 to Grant and Hallie (Johnson) Bagshaw. Roger graduated from Henryville High School in 1961. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Morehead State University and his Masters +30 from Indiana University Southeast. He taught in Kentucky for 3 years before moving back to the area. Roger then began a 32-year career teaching for Greater Clark County Schools, retiring from Parkview Middle School in 2002. He enjoyed coaching several sports including golf, football, basketball, track and cross country.

Roger enjoyed hunting, working crossword puzzles, fishing, playing cards, hunting mushrooms, gardening, traveling, socializing and making people smile and laugh. He was a member of the Sellersburg Moose Lodge for over 34 years. He was a past officer at the lodge and dedicated many hours assisting with charitable projects for the Moose and for the community. Roger will be remembered as a kind, hard-working and fun-loving friend by many. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings. Survivors include his son, Tony (Anne), of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and his daughter, Amy, of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren Grace, Grant, Sarah and Colby; several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and close friends.  

Visitation will be at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg Friday, September 28 from 4PM to 8PM and Saturday, September 29 from 9AM to 11AM, with funeral services immediately following. 

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to go to Moose Charities, Inc., the Sellersburg Moose Lodge Christmas Basket Fund, or the Molly Johnson Foundation
