Mr. Prather was a teacher and a man that made a difference in people's lives. When you continue to use the knowledge from a teacher 30 plus years later you know he has made an impact. I am not the only one blessed with the teachings of Mr. Prather. There are thousands of us from SC and IUS touched by his knowledge. He was a humble man who knew the value of a days work. After a conversation on his farm last fall I walked away with admiration for a man that just enjoyed cutting wood. He loved that farm and I am grateful for the opportunity he allowed me to hunt. Part of the enjoyment of the farm was knowing the pride he had in that piece of property. I will miss the talks, seeing you in the fall, and seeing you in the stands at the basketball games. What a kind gentle soul. We lost a good one here.

I am so sorry to learn of David's passing. I always enjoyed talking with him at our family reunions. I apologize for not being at the visitation – I did not learn of David’s passing until after the funeral. My heart and prayers go with all of you.

Sorry for your loss. I remember Mr Prather fondly ... as a teacher, but more recently for the pumpkins, gourds, and other fall decorations he raised.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Prather was one of my favorite teachers. I was trying to find a subject for an oil painting and he let me borrow a sculpture of a woman to paint. I will never forget his smile when I gave him that painting for Christmas. He had such a kind, sweet soul. He will be missed. Prayers of comfort during this most difficult time.

To the Prather Family: I am sorry to hear about Paul's death. The death of a loved one is never something that is easy to deal with no matter the circumstances. May God's promise to bring back to life many of our loved ones who have died serve as a source of comfort during this time of grief (Acts 24:15).
