William "Rusty" Collier II

William R. Collier II, affectionately known as Rusty, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the age of 66. Residing in Sellersburg, IN, Rusty was born in New Albany, IN, on February 20, 1959, to the late William and Elaine Collier.

Rusty was a beloved husband,  father, brother, and grandfather. He leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Wilma, daughter, Brittany Bishop (Brandon), his cherished granddaughter, Elaina Bishop, and his devoted sister, Susan Hutchison. Rusty is also survived by his niece Stacie Hutchison and great-niece Violet Smith. Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Elaine Collier, with whom he now rejoins.

A proud alumnus of Silver Creek High School, Rusty dedicated his career to working as a machine operator, where he was known for his diligence and reliability. Outside of work, Rusty was a storyteller at heart, captivating family and friends with his tales.

Rusty found joy in nature, often spending his leisure time fishing and hunting. He was an avid bowler and held a deep admiration for the majesty of bald eagles. His love for classic rock was well-known, marked most notably by his treasured t-shirt from a Bob Seger concert a memento of his enduring passion for music.

Visitation will be held at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172), on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Rusty’s life will follow immediately at 3:00 pm at the same location. Arrangements are under the thoughtful care of Garr Funeral Home.

Rusty’s warmth, humor, and zest for life touched all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
