Virginia G. (Giltner) Waiz

Virginia G. Waiz, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at her home in Sellersburg, Indiana surrounded by her family. She was born on April 13, 1928 in Sellersburg to the late Virgil and Irene Giltner (Cole). Virginia retired from ICI America in 1992 after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Paul Campus) where she was a member of the Ladies Club. Virginia was also a former member of the Chit Chat Club and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 204 of Sellersburg. She was preceded in death by husband, Carl (Buzz) Waiz, by her son, Steve Waiz and by her grand daughter, Killianna Waiz.  
 
Survivors include her sons, Michael Waiz (Debbie) of Sellersburg, Mark Waiz (Karen) of Louisville, Kentucky, Kevin Waiz (Lin) of Sellersburg, her daughter, Sue Ann Rainbolt (Bill) of Charlestown, grandchildren, Todd Waiz (Jennifer), Kim Kirtley (Chris), Stephen Everitt (Shannon), Mandy Basham (Joe), Keightley Waiz , Katelin Waiz, Andrew Waiz (Rachel) Haley Waiz, Nathan Rainbolt (Laura), Jessi Vermillion (Don) and Ryan Ward (Caitlin). Virginia also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren to cherish her memory. The family wishes to express their gratitude to their mother's compassionate caregivers; Kathryn, Leisha, Cara and Becky.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Paul Campus) in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the processional to the church. Live streaming of the funeral mass will be provided by the church at http://facebook.com/stjohnpaulparish.org/videos. Due to the current pandemic situation, the family strongly suggests wearing a mask while visiting the funeral home.
