Velva Lee Bentley, entered eternal life on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at her home. She was a Homemaker and member of Bible Believer’s in Louisville. Velva was born to the late Boyd and Pinkie Hurley in Prater, Virginia and the oldest of nine children. She always kept God and her family first. Velva enjoyed a simple life including flowers, gardening and all of God’s little creatures. She had a heart full of love and always looked out for the best interest of others. Velva was protective of her family and loved ones, well known for her genuine heart and spunkiness. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Kenny and Paul Hurley. Surviving are her loving husband of 52 years, Allen Bentley, Son, Dwayne (Sharon) Bentley, brothers, Benny (Kaye) Hurley, Eddie (Barb) Hurley, Greg Hurley, sisters, Margaret (Tom) Davis, Wilma Hurley, Vanessa (Ancie) Casey, grandsons, Joseph and Joshua Bentley, numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1PM on Tuesday with Bro. Brad Burgess officiating, at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Wolf Cemetery in Georgetown, Indiana.
