Trudy I. Wigginton, 78, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at her home in Charlestown with her family by her side. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on the 31st of July, 1944. Trudy was a self-employed beautician for 52 years until her retirement. She was a member and avid volunteer of the American Legion Post 204 Ladies Auxiliary. Trudy enjoyed thrift shopping so much she was given the title of #1 Goodwill shopper. She enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers. Trudy was a very talented seamstress. She enjoyed sewing the championship banners for many of the local schools. Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Gradye Ruth Averitt (Smith).
Survivors include her loving husband, Jack M. Wigginton of Charlestown, her son, Jeffrey Wigginton (Karen) of Charlestown, her daughter, Robin Wigginton of Clarksville, her step-son, Mark A. Wigginton (Marcia) of Austin, Texas, her grandson, Eric Wigginton of Charlestown, her step grandchildren, Alex Gordon of Jeffersonville, Chris Gordon of Jeffersonville, Katie Shah (Kaleb) of Great Falls, Montana and her sisters, Jacque Watson (Graham) of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Delores Reynolds (Sam) of Gallatin, Tennessee and Angie Womack (Zac) of Gallatin, Tennessee.
Visitation will be held on from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172). The Ladies Auxiliary will do a Poppy Ceremony in lieu of a service at 6:00 pm on Friday. There will be an open house on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in honor of Trudy at The American Legion Post in Sellersburg.
