Susanne J. (Vonderheide) Schnell

Susanne “Sue” J. Schnell, 80, entered eternal life on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Sue was born on February 11, 1941 to the late Harry and Henrietta Vonderheide (Miller) in Jasper, Indiana. She was a home maker and past member of the St. John Paul II Catholic Church of Sellersburg. She loved gardening, reading and spending time with her dog Maddie. Her joy in life came from spending precious time with her family. Sue was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ollie V. Schnell, by her brother, Melvin “Mel” Vonderheide  and by her 3 sisters, Virginia Friedman, Lucille Friedman and Ruth Ferguson.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna Schnell-Knies (Charles) of Sellersburg, Dianna Moore of Jeffersonville, her sisters, Patricia Opel of Haysville, Indiana, Deloris Russell of Sacramento, California, her granddaughter, Maggie Moore Johnson (Chase) of Jeffersonville and her great-grandson, Macen Johnson.  Sue also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
