Shelby Alana Thomas, 24, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on October 5, 1995 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Shelby was a Special Education Teaching Assistant and was pursuing her teaching degree full time. Shelby had a giving personality and a passion for helping others. Her students held a special place in her heart. Shelby cared deeply for ALL animals. She often volunteered her time to the Kentucky Humane Society.
Survivors include her parents, Pamela (Paul) Fraley of Pekin, Thomas Thomas (Michelle Lafollette) of Jeffersonville, her sisters, Kaitlyn Thomas of Pekin, Ruby Thomas of Jeffersonville and Josephine Thomas also of Jeffersonville. Shelby also leaves behind her grandparents to cherish her memory, Cecil and Pauline Seale of Henryville, Wendell and Janet Fraley of Borden, Elmer and Clara Thomas of Louisville and Janie Pillot of Sarasota, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Martinsburg New Cemetery in Martinsburg, Indiana. Visitation Will be held on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
