Shawn Grim of New Albany, Indiana passed away at his home on June 4, 2022 at 44 years of age. Shawn was born August 31, 1977 to Donald and Sallie Grim.
Shawn was born and raised in New Albany, Indiana where he was a 1995 graduate of New Albany High School. He had many jobs after graduating until he found his career at Cimtech Inc. as a Vice president of Operations. While at Cimtech Inc. Shawn made many lasting friendships and memories.
Shawn married Sheena Grim on June 12, 2010 along with becoming a bonus Father to Sheena's children, Brandon and Kassidy. He also loved his fur babies Cali and Marley who he spoiled and nurtured. Family was very important to Shawn and you could witness the love he shared with his wife Sheena.
Shawn is preceded in death by his beloved mother Sallie Grim.
Shawn is survived by his wife of 12 years Sheena, his father Donald Grim, several bothers and sisters-Mike Grim and his wife Laura, John Grim and his wife Mee Lee, Bill Grim, Dan Grim, Terri Wise and her husband Doug, and Tammy Buchanan and her husband Jeff. As well as several nieces and nephews. And of course many friends that deeply cared for him.
Shawn's passion was music, when you couldn't find him grilling out, enjoying his bourbon or spending time with his close group of friends by the pool, he was shredding the guitar and attending concerts fulfilling his love for music. He was an important influence in a lot of lives of musicians along the way. Shawn will always be remembered as a caring, easy going, funny, talented, neighborly friend who will be missed indefinitely. The impact he made on the people in his life with the love he spread will live on in his spirit forever.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Donations are asked to be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
