Sharon Mae Potts Richardson, 62, entered eternal life on Thursday, January 26, 2023 following a short Illness. She was born on December 13, 1960 to the late George William “Bill” and Nora Potts (Davis) in Louisville, Kentucky. Sharon grew up in the Daisy Hill area of Borden, Indiana. She worked as a cosmetologist for Fantastic Sams during her working years and was a full time care giver for ailing parents. Sharon enjoyed vacationing with her family to the beach and the mountains. The Smokey Mountains of East Tennessee held a special place in her heart. For the last 3 years, Sharon‘s world revolved around her grandson, Fletcher Joseph. They were inseparable. She was looking forward to the arrival of her first granddaughter Elaina Pearl. Sharon was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend, but if she was asked, Nana was on top of the list. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Dickie Wayne Richardson, by her brother-In-laws, John King and Larry Jackson and by her sister-in-law, Maddie Richardson.
Survivors include her sons, Tommy William Lancaster of Charlestown, Indiana, Stacey Joseph Tompkins (Teslin) of Sellersburg, Indiana, her sisters, Theresa King of Charlestown, Janice Jackson of Charlestown, her nephews, John King (Rhonda) of Charlestown, George King (Angie) of Charlestown, her nieces, Tammy Jackson (Eddie) of Charlestown, Crystal Jackson (George) also of Charlestown, her brother-in-law, Jerry Richardson of Fredericksburg, Indiana and her beloved grandson, Fletcher Joseph Tompkins. Sharon also leaves behind many cousins and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow next to her husband at Forest Grove Cemetery (Willies Chapel) in Memphis, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M until the time of the service at the funeral home.
