Shanna Marie Wright

Shanna Marie Wright, 42, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Norton
Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on August 1, 1979
in New Albany, Indiana. Shanna worked in special education for JCPS at the St.
Joseph Home of Louisville, Kentucky. She was a graduate of New
Albany High School. And went on to earn her undergraduate and master's degrees in education
from Indiana University. Her students were her pride and joy and she made a significant impact on their lives. Shanna had a  deep love for animals and had many of her own. This love for animals resulted in participation in numerous foster programs as well as taking in many sick and unwanted pets to give them a loving and caring home. Shanna
loved the beach so much so she moved to Florida for a short period of time. Where she enjoyed driving around in her Spyder convertible visiting the beach playing Dave Matthews Band(she was the #1 fan).
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Wright, by her
grandfather, Morris Metje,  by her aunt Janet Wiseman, by her uncles, Rick Wiseman, Michael Owen and George Anderson.
Survivors include her mother, Lisa Freiberger and step father Brian Freiberger of Floyds Knobs,
IN, her daughter, Elisabeth Brooke Wright of Sellersburg, IN her
brother, Andrew Freiberger of Floyds Knobs, IN. Sisters, Mary Freiberger of Indianapolis, IN, Michelle Seay
(Justin) and her niece, Maddie Seay of SC. Cousins but more like brothers Christopher Wiseman (Lynn) of Indianapolis, IN, Jeremy Owen (Julia) and children of Lithia, Florida.  Grandparents Dorothy Metje of Lanesville, IN, Delores and Richard Striegel of Floyds Knobs, IN, David and Peggy Freiberger of Floyds Knobs, IN. Aunts and Uncles Terri and Kent Ebling of Floyds Knobs, IN,Deborah and Roger Turner of New Albany, IN, Dianna and Tim Anderson (Elizabeth and Ti mothy) of Sanibel, FL, Jill and Mike Knoebel (Delaney and Jonathan) of New Albany, IN and Leah Anderson (Alex, Max and Ian) of Bloomington, IN and numerous other family and friends near and dear to Shanna and family. Cremation was chosen to honor Shanna's wishes. 

A combined Celebration of Life will be held for Shanna  along with Grand-mother, Dorothy (Dot) Marie Metje, who passed away August 10, 2022 at Crossroads Community Church (2248 Charlestown Road New Albany, Indiana) on

Saturday October 8, 2022, at 2:00pm.
