Ruth (Miller) Butler

Ruth Butler, age 90, entered eternal life on the morning of Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Maple Manor Christian Home of Sellersburg, Indiana. She was born on June 2, 1931 in Casey County, Kentucky to the late Aiser and Bessie Miller (Coffey). Ruth was a terrific home maker. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, canning and cooking. She was a member of the Sellersburg Church of Christ where she was active in the quilting club. Ruth volunteered her time with the Maple Manor Christian Home for over 25 years. Her pride and joy came from her family. Her love for her children and grandchildren was unmatched.  Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Butler, Sr., by her son, John Butler, Jr., by two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly King (Butler) of Sellersburg, her brother, Newell Bryant Miller of Loveland, Ohio, his sister, Nellie Coleman of Liberty, Kentucky, her grandchildren, Amanda Wilson, Sarah Butler and Christopher Butler. Ruth also leaves behind three great-grandchildren to cherish her memory, Jordan Butler, Brennan Wilson and Grayson Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
