Russell Hostettler, 64, entered into eternal life on June 22, 2022.
He was born to the late Carl “Buster”and Anna “Bugs” (Ehringer) Hostettler on June 4, 1958. Russ was a graduate of Silver Creek High School. He was a hard working man, beginning at Kentucky Lithograph, 15 years for Pillsbury, and finally his favorite job was working for Team Construction.
An avid sportsman, Russ enjoyed many different sports, including playing softball, golfing, ping pong (he thought he was a champion), hunting mushrooms, fishing and hunting, and was never so happy as when he was sitting quietly in the woods, waiting for a deer or fishing at his favorite spot. He also loved going to Churchill Downs, reading the racing forms and betting on the horses. More often than not he walked away a winner
In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by Pam Hostettler, the mother of his children.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Brenda; daughters Kristin Adams (Matthew), Beth Brown (Josh); brother Gary Hostettler (Sharon); sister Gail Loveall (Mike); grandchildren Danielle Brown, Haydn Adams, Haylee Adams, Logan Brown, and Kara Cruther. Also left are his beloved dogs Bubby, Mooney and Kiki.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.
