Phyllis Jean Pooler

Phyllis Jean Pooler, born on May 22, 1944, in Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was 81 years old.

Phyllis was a devoted and cherished friend, mother, grandmother and sister. An accomplished accountant, she dedicated many years of service as a partner with S.K. Wilson and Associates. Known for her meticulous nature, her organizational skills were unmatched, earning her great respect among her colleagues and clients alike.

Phyllis had a rich and rewarding life beyond her professional accomplishments. Her passion for yard work was a testament to her love for beauty, nature and her nurturing spirit. She was a spirited competitor when it came to playing games with her family, taking particular joy in outsmarting her opponents at Rook and Scrabble. Later she practiced her hands and mind with cooking, baking and with vigor attitude , she succeeded with delicious recipes.

She is survived by dear friend, Sharon Wilson and her beloved sister, Cheri Begley. She leaves behind her granddaughter Dakota Doren (Marcus), granddaughter Alicia King, and grandson Joseph King, who will all miss her lively spirit and the warmth she brought to their lives.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Elicia Pooler, and her beloved daughter, Stephanie Lynn King. She carried their memories with her always.

Visitation will take place at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:30 A.M. until the procession to church. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (2253 West St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
