Ora "Jackie" Stewart, 91, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away peacefully while residing at Maple Manor Christian Home in Sellersburg, Indiana, on Friday, April 15, 2022.
She was born in New Albany, Indiana where she lived and worked most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie and James Scharrer, her brother, Roy Jackson and her husband William Lee Stewart.
She worked for P. Lorillard Co. for 25 years when she retired to work in the family business “Stewart’s Antique Clocks” till 1982. After that she found much enjoyment working in several Antique Malls in New Albany for many years.
She loved antiquing, playing bingo, casinos, and getting her hair fixed. She loved everyone that she came in contact with over the years both family and friends. She was a long-standing member to the American Legion Post 28 and a member of Grace Community Church in Sellersburg. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Diane (John) Sims of Palmyra, Indiana and son, Alan (Jan) Stewart of Clarksville, IN. Grandchildren include, Jeremy Sims, Joshua (Christina) Sims, Mallory (Greg) Jewell, Katie Stewart, Oliver (Alexandria) Stewart, Adam (Niki) King and Ben (Ashley) King along with 13 Great Grandchildren, who all loved their Nana.
She desired cremation with no funeral services.
Plans are being made for a celebration of her life service which, will be announced on Facebook.
Memorial donations in Jackie’s memory may be made to Grace Community Church in Sellersburg, IN.
