Norman Ellenbrand, a beloved husband, brother, and uncle, was called to his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on September 30, 2023. He transitioned peacefully at his residence, with Rita, his devoted wife of 74 years, holding his hand.
Born on July 14, 1926, in Navilleton, Indiana, Norman was the cherished son of the late Andrew and Edna Ellenbrand. He grew up in the close-knit community of Navilleton township, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work, compassion, and faith.
Norman honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Corps. Following his service, he returned to his roots, founding Ellenbrand TV Service, where he operated as owner for many years.
His faith found a spiritual home at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, where he was an active and long-standing member. It was a source of comfort and guidance throughout his life.
A man of many interests, Norman was an avid traveler and a licensed pilot. He reveled in the simpler pleasures of life, from playing cards with friends and family to enjoying his favorite game shows.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Rita (Graf) Ellenbrand; his sisters, Thelca Sinkhorn and Eva Hodges; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. He joins in eternal peace his parents, Andrew and Edna, and sisters Julia Dearing, Irene Ellenbrand, and Rita Howlett.
Norman’s indomitable spirit and heartfelt kindness will be missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched.
