Norma “Tunnie” Kamer, 92, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2022. She was a lifelong resident of Sellersburg, Indiana, as well as a lifelong member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church. She was born to the late Joseph & Cora Ehringer, and was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Helen Thomas and Anna “Bugs” Acree; her husband, Alfred Kamer; and her son, Michael Kamer. She is survived by 3 children; Mark Kamer (Pam), Neal Kamer (Gail), and Laura Cornelio; 7 grandchildren, Ashley Dailey (Austin), Derek Warren, Olivia Kamer, Jonathan Kamer (Jordan), Hannah Kamer (Adam), Jesse Kamer (April), and Josiah Kamer, as well as 5 great-grandchildren.
Tunnie worked for thirty years at Louisville Defense Mapping Agency, retiring in 1985 to dedicate the remainder of her life to enjoying time with her family. She was a member of the American Legion Post 204 Ladies Auxiliary Tunnie was an avid gardener, always in her flower beds, a devout fan of Hoosier basketball, and a seasoned cook who enjoyed baking and sharing in meals with her family and neighbors.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 1, 2022 St. John Paul II Catholic Church (2253 West St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow in St. Joe Hill Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg on Sunday from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the processional to the church.
