Nancy Jane Trout, 72, entered eternal life on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at her home in Sellersburg, Indiana. She was born on September 21, 1950 to the late Newton and Bonnie Clem (Linton) in New Albany, Indiana. Nancy retired from the Indiana Workforce Development Office (Unemployment) after 33 years of service as a Claims Deputy. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose (Sellersburg Lodge). Nancy enjoyed cooking, gardening and watching T.V. in her spare time, especially The Young and the Restless. She had a soft place in her heart for animals. Nancy was an avid giver to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (A.S.P.C.A.). She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Clem and by her sister, Cheryl Witcher.
Survivors include her husband, John Trout of Sellersburg, her daughters, Shannon Laoye (Oladimeji) of Selma, California, Brandi Hackl of Louisville, Kentucky, her brothers, Edward Clem of New Albany, Indiana, David Clem (Donna) of New Albany, Chris Clem (Marie) of Elizabeth, Indiana , her sisters, Judy Ehringer (John) of Sellersburg, Suzanne Garrett of Sellersburg and her grandchildren, Alexandria Bravo (Diego) of Fresno, California, Zachary Short (Annabellee) of San Diego, California and Josiah Goodwin of Selma, California. Nancy also leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
