Matthew Ness Oosting died on January 15, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.
He battled a glioblastoma brain tumor bravely with humility and humor.
He was born on April 18, 1973, in Battle Creek Michigan, the son of Tom and Carole Oosting.
He attended UND, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He married Karna Haglund on August 12, 2000, in Cleveland, South Carolina. They raised two daughters at their home in Hiram, Georgia for 19 years. He was a pilot for ASA/Express Jet for 20 years. After Covid he finally got his dream job as a Management Pilot with UPS in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born to fly and did so with passion, he had love for his craft and the people he worked with.
He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, son and friend. Matt was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. He loved and supported his family and friends above all else. He had a great impact on many peoples’ lives, personally and professionally.
He is survived by his wife Karna and their two daughters Piper and Zoe, parents Tom and Carole Oosting.
