Mary Carlene Oliver, 83, entered eternal life on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on March 11, 1939 to the late Jessie and Selene Kendall (Gray) in Oakridge, Tennessee. Mary was a homemaker and member of the Grace Family Worship Church of Jeffersonville. She loved her church and thoroughly enjoyed being active within the church. She was an excellent cook, but her passion was baking. She was a talented basketball player in her youth. Mary’s team in South Fulton, Tennessee was undefeated for quite some time. Her completive nature shined throughout her life, especially when she played corn hole. She cherished the quality time she spent with her family especially her great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmie Glenn Oliver.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Spencer (Kenneth) of Sellersburg, Indiana, Lisa Oliver (Clayton) of New Albany, Indiana her brother, Ronald Kendall (Peggy) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, her sisters, Cassie Wilson of South Carolina, Jean Just of Borden, Indiana, her grandchildren, Jimmy Spencer, Chris Clayton, Brittney Mercer, Jacob Clayton and Donovan Clayton. Mary also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 P.M. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens in New Albany, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
