Margaret Ann (Schwartz) McElwain

Margaret Ann McElwain, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Charlestown, Indiana on Thursday December 2, 2022 surrounded by her family.  She was born on September 23, 1938 to Edward and Emily Schwartz in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a member of the Charlestown Road church of Christ in New Albany, Indiana. Marge was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother.  Marge loved her family very much. Marge married Bob McElwain on August 31, 1957 and just this past August, celebrated 65 years of marriage.  Marge attended high school in Henderson, Kentucky and attended Western Kentucky University.

Marge is survived by her husband, Bob McElwain; a brother Edward Schwartz Jr. (Kim); three children Cathy Vaughn (Steve), Bob McElwain Jr. (Wilma) and Steve McElwain (Susan);  Grandchildren Brooke Schafer, Trish Rose (Scott), Jason Andres, Corey McElwain, Michael McElwain, Scott McElwain, Danny McElwain and Sean McElwain;  7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.   She is preceded in death by her parents.

Marge will be honored in a private service by her family. In lieu of flowers, the family request gifts of sympathy be made to Hosparus of Southern Indiana
