Mackenzie "Kenzie" Carpenter , 21, entered eternal life on Saturday, March 11, 2023 following at motor vehicle accident. She was born on March 31, 2001 to Eric and Kimberly Carpenter (Ponsford) in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Kenzie worked for McDonalds at locations in Jeffersonville, New Albany and Texas. She loved ALL animals, but her black Dachshund, Darren held a special place in her heart. Kenzie had a very social spirit. She had a loving and likable personality that radiated from her every where she went. Kenzie will be remembered for the outstanding daughter, sister and granddaughter she was.  She was preceded in death by her miscarried child and her paternal grandmother, Beatrice Carpenter.

Survivors include her Parents, Eric and Kimberly Carpenter of Charlestown, Indiana, her brothers, Kyle Ponsford (Aubrey) of Bloomington, Indiana, Kory, Michael and Zachary Carpenter of Charlestown, her sister, Chloe Carpenter (Timothy) of Charlestown, her paternal grandparents, David and Sharon Ponsford of Salem, Indiana and her paternal grandfather, Virgil Carpenter of Charlestown.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow at Sellersburg cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Garr Funeral Home to help the family with final expenses.
