Loren Lee Bower, 77, passed away on January 12, 2022 at Baptist Floyd Hospital in New Albany, IN. He was born on March 18,1944 in Charlestown, Indiana to the late Wayne & Maude “Carter” Bower. He was preceded in death by his brothers Wayne Edward and Donald Bower and brother-in-law Junie Helton. He is survived by his loving wife Diann “Kaufer” Bower. They were married for 56 years. Three children, Milissa (Tony) Wagoner, Amy (Greg) Potts and Randy (Delores) Bower all of Borden, IN. Six grandsons, Duane (Jessica) Potts, Trevor (Brandi) Wagoner, Drake (Megan) Potts, Dalton (Taylor) Wagoner, Tony “TJ” Wagoner and Branson Wagoner. He leaves behind eight great grandchildren; Kynlee, Jacie, Maddie, Henlie, Griffin, Oakland, Peyton & Maya that he completely spoiled and adored. He also leaves behind siblings; Ronnie (Shirley), Sue, Cliff (Cindy), Linda (Steve), Norman (Patty) and many nephews and nieces.
Loren worked for 28 years at GE Appliance Park, but was happily retired for the past 22 years. He truly enjoyed working outdoors in his garden and spending lots of time with his great grandchildren. One of his favorite hobbies was working with wood to make tables, benches, bird houses and other various items to share with family & friends. Loren was a faithful lifelong member of St. Johns Catholic Church, where he volunteered his time serving at church services, events and festivals. He was a member of the local Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, IU Basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. He also enjoyed most Sundays with a breakfast at the local Buckboard diner and visiting with the Borden community. He was a simple, devoted, loving family man and will be truly missed by all of his family and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the St. John the Baptist Church (8310 St John Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119) with interment to follow in the Church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Garr funeral home in Sellersburg from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the processional to the Church.
