Lonnie Wayne Bower

Lonnie Wayne Bower of Charlestown, Indiana age 72 went to his eternal rest with the lord on Friday August 11, 2023.

He was born June 3rd, 1951, in East St. Louis, Illinois.

Mr. Bower is survived by; His twin brother Ronnie Wade Bower 72 (Gail) of Clarksville, Indiana one daughter Allison Nichole Bower 37, spouse (Pat VanMeter) of Clarksville, IN. Virginia Ann Bower 74, close friend and mother of daughter Allison. One grandson Landon Carter (11), that was his world and he loved very much. Two nephews Bobby Bower (Farrah) of Sellersburg, Indiana, Ronnie Bower Jr. of Paducah, KY spouse (Erin); three great nieces (Savannah, Emelia, Raya) one great nephew Benjamin Bower. One sister Rosemary McCutcheon of Greenville, Indiana. He is proceeded in death by his mother Reva Bower (Renfro) his father Glen Scott Bower and brother Joseph Vernon Speak.

Lonnie is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. Lonnie’s experience in the Marines played a very important role in his life. He frequently pointed out that the Marines taught him the value of discipline, teamwork, and investing in a cause larger than himself. Lonnie was a man of many talents but was a skilled independent contractor and carpenter. He loved spending quality time with his family, especially his daughter Allison, his grandson Landon and his twin brother Ronnie. Some of hobbies were collecting coins, metal detecting, fishing, cooking, reading and expanding is knowledge in alternative medicine and herbs and sharing his knowledge with others. He enjoyed watching Syfy and Western movies. Lonnie was a proud American and Veteran who loved Donald J. Trump.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172). Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
