Leanna D. Humphrey, age 67, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on July 21, 1956, in New Albany, Indiana, to Calvin and Cleo (Vernie) Voyles.
Leanna had a distinguished career, beginning as a nurse, where she worked alongside Dr. Martha Dawson in Louisville, Kentucky an later transitioned to be an executive secretary for Humana. Her dedication to her profession was evident in her compassionate care and meticulous work.
A former member of St. Mary’s Church in Navilleton, Leanna was deeply committed to her faith and community. She was a passionate advocate for InSource, an organization dedicated to assisting parents of children with disabilities in navigating the complexities of special education in Indiana.
Leanna was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Voyles; her sister, Carol Metcalf; and her brother-in-law, Rick Metcalf.
Survivors include her loving husband of 32 years, Scott Humphrey of New Albany, Indiana, her sons, Kyle Mayfield (Mariah) of Memphis, Indiana, Eric Mayfield (Jill) of Lanesville, Indiana, her step-daughters, Sarah Humphrey (Jim) of Louisville, Kentucky, Amy Stevens (Tyler) of Louisville, her mother, Cleo Voyles of Sellersburg, her brothers, Denny Voyles (Debbie) of Galena, Indiana, Danny Voyles (Michelle) of Ocalla, Florida, her sisters, Eleene Metcalf of Galena, Indiana, Beth Costin (Warner) of Columbus, Ohio, Sheila Balmer of Galena, and her grandchildren, Lorna, Logan, Bruce, Diana, Braden, Caleb, Hadley and Liam. Leanna also leave three great- grandchildren to cherish her legacy, Carter, Lincoln and Kynleigh.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with entombment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
