Kristina M. McWhorter

Floyds Knobs, IN – Kristina M. McWhorter, 50, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Kristy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who touched the hearts of all who knew her.

A resident of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Kristy enjoyed her work in accounting, known for her meticulous attention to detail and her unyielding dedication to her work. Her professional life was just one aspect of her vibrant personality. Kristy had a passion for the beach, with St. Pete and the Clearwater area holding a special place in her heart. She was a beach bum at heart, always seeking solace and joy by the ocean waves.

Kristy was a devoted dance mom, never missing a chance to support her daughters in their performances and always made sure to support her son in everything he did. Her love for her children was boundless and evident in every aspect of her life. Kristy’s one-of-a-kind smile and infectious laughter brightened everyone and everything around her, even on the darkest days of her battle. She was a source of strength for those around her and had an unparalleled gift for seeing the good in everyone.

Proceeded in death by her beloved maternal grandparents, Elmer and Rosalina Stumler. Kristy’s memory will be cherished by her surviving family: her husband, Scott McWhorter, her son, Dylan McWhorter; her daughters, Abby and Bri McWhorter, her parents, Cecil and Leona Gibson; and her sister, Michelle Rudolph (Dietrich).

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation hosted in the west auditorium of Northside Christian Church (4407 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150) on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will also be held at the church at 5:00 PM. Visitation will resume following the service until 8:00 PM.  Garr Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
