Kathryn A. (Prather) Kovachik

Kathryn A. Kovachik, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on November 29, 1940 to the late Charles and Laura Prather (Dietrich) in Clark County, Indiana. Mrs. Kovachik was a homemaker and military wife. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Charlestown and the Kings Daughters.  Mrs. Kovachik was a talented artist, seamstress and cake decorator. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Kovachik was preceded in death by her brother, Charles A. Prather, Jr. and by her sisters, Margaret Braun and Mary Scifres.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, John Kovachik of New Albany, Indiana, her son, John M. Kovachik (Carolyn) of Greenville, Indiana and her daughters, Laura Wyatt of Sellersburg, Glora Beirne (David) of Palmyra, Indiana, Teresa Kovachik of New Albany, Tammy Sizemore (Gerald) of LaConia, Indiana and Barbara Worman (Brian) of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Mrs. Kovachik also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M.  on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with a private interment to follow at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
