John J. Miller, 79, entered eternal life on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on the 10th of January 1942 to the late Lavern and Nellie Miller (Brown) in Chelsea, Massachusetts. John retired from the United States Navy after 30 years of honorable service to his country. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and a member of the American Legion Post 204 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. John attending church services at the Sellersburg Church of Christ. He loved gardening, fishing and decorating his yard for ALL of the holidays.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Liz “sis” Miller of Borden, Indiana, his daughters, Diane Hamilton (James) of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, Margaret Reuther of Louisville, Kentucky, Melanie Campagna of Jacksonville, Florida, his brother, Donald Miller of Virginia, his sisters, Margaret Bryant (Bob) of North Carolina, Diane Miller of North Carolina and his 10 grandchildren, Darren Hamilton, Christopher Hamilton, Brittany Provancher, Joshua Russo, Anthony Russo, Kyle Reuther, Marissa Monell, Dakota Forish, Krista Dunlap and Drake Forish. John also leaves behind 12 great- grandchildren to cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
