Joanna F. Ridenour, of the New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30th, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on March 19th, 1942, in Canmer, Kentucky, Joanna was remembered for her warmth, compassion, and dedication to her family.
Throughout her life, Joanna embraced her role as a homemaker, finding immense joy and purpose in caring for her family and home. In her early years, she worked as a nurse's assistant before committing herself to the noble duty of homemaking, a responsibility she carried with grace and love.
Joanna's passions included quilting, gardening, and tending to her beloved flowers. She was particularly fond of sharing these hobbies with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored dearly.
Joanna is survived by her loving children, Diana Caldwell and, Doug Meadors, Mary Ward and her husband Glenn, and Jimmy Ridenour and his wife Tracy. She is also survived by her sister, Annis Cantu and her husband Rico, and leaves behind cherished memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joanna was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Moore, her beloved husband, Frank Ridenour, and her sisters, Karen Smothers and Brenda Adamzac.
Visitation will take place at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172), on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at the Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer, Kentucky. Joanna will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her. Arrangements have been made by Garr Funeral Home.
