Jennifer Kay (Scifres) Wright

Jennifer Kay Wright (Scifres), 64, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.  She was born on July 5, 1959 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Glenn L. and Mary A. Scifres (Prather). She grew up in Charlestown, Indiana where she attended and graduated from Charlestown High School.  She worked at her parent’s business, Scifres Electrical Contractor and Bank of Louisville.  She was a life time member of Speed Memorial Church.  She enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, and her cats.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin L. Wright of 44 years.  Her daughter,  Kaylee Ray (Will) of Pekin, IN.  Her sister, Mary Jo Harrod of Durham,  North Carolina, her brother Glenn L. Scifres of Maize, Kansas.  Brother-in-law,  Charles E. “Chuck” Wright (Linda) of Sellersburg, Indiana  and her sister-in-law, Sharon M. Pelkey of Charlestown, Indiana.  Three wonderful  grandchildren, Isaiah M. Wright, Jeremiah Wright, and Ella G. Ray .  She had 10 nephews and nieces, and 22 great nephews and nieces.

She was pre-deceased by her father-in-law, Charles E. “Chick” Wright and Virginia L. Wright of Clarksville, Indiana and by her brother and sister-in-law, Dwight Thomas "Tommy" Wright and Karin “Kandy" A. Wright.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
