Jean C. (Bierly) Reker

Jean C. (Bierly) Reker, 81, of Sellersburg, Indiana entered eternal life on June 10, 2022.

Jean was born at home in Palmyra, Indiana. She graduated from Eastern High School in Pekin in 1958. She met Vince at a local square dance club. They married in 1972. They opened a small business in 1981, where Jean worked as a bookkeeper. In later years she served in leadership of the Great Lakes Ohio Valley Region of Aglow International and was a member of Restoration Christian Church in Sellersburg. Jean loved Jesus and her family. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, competing at home in Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, watching HGTV and singing.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Loren Bierly and Eunice Casey, and brother Lowell Bierly. She is survived by the love of her life, William V. “Vince” Reker, to whom she was married for nearly 50 years; her children Robin R. Shuff (Mark) and Cheryl A. Butler; four grandchildren Roseanne Green (Brad), TJ Brandreth, Carley Shuff, and Kendall Shuff; two great-grandchildren Leyem Green and Arden Slone; along with siblings Kenneth Bierly (Sandy) and Rita McComas (Mike); and her furry companion, Snoopy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
