James “Hogan” Cissell, 25, entered eternal life on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on September 6, 1997 to James and Michelle Cissell (Popp). Hogan was a 2016 graduate of Borden High School. He enjoyed playing baseball for the Borden Braves, playing cards and listening to country music. Hogan loved to farm. He was an avid outdoorsman; he thoroughly enjoyed fishing and hunting. Hogan was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Popp and by his grandmother, Dianna Cissell.
Surviovrs include his parents, James and Michelle Cissell of Borden, Indiana, his brother, Ethan Cissell of Borden, Indiana, his sister, Emily Cissell of Borden, Indiana, his grandmother, Pauline Popp of Memphis, Indiana, his grandfather, Herman Cissell of Borden, Indiana and his aunts, Alicia Bender (Frank) of New Albany, Indiana and Angie Hazen (Rick) of Borden, Indiana. Hogan also leaves behind five cousins to cherish his memory, Cameron Hazen, Connor Hazen, Jessica Henderson, Shane Bender and Candace Roederer.
A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, November 7, 2022 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (old Church building) with interment to follow at Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the processional to the church.
