James McCurry Jr.

James McCurry, Jr., 54, of South Hardinsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana.

Born on December 6, 1970, in New Albany, he was the son of James McCurry, Sr., and Brenda McCurry (Missi). James worked for many years as a logger, a trade he took great pride in, until health challenges led him to retire. Outside of work, he found joy in landscaping and possessed a natural talent for creating beautiful outdoor spaces. He was also a devoted music lover, appreciating all genres, and found his greatest happiness in spending time with his grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his father, James McCurry, Sr. , and sister Pamela McCurry.

He is survived by his loving mother, Brenda McCurry; his wife, Vicki McCurry (Estes); his brother, Richard McCurry; his grandmother, Lois Missi; his children, Johnathan Witzer, Rusty McCurry, Monica Witzer, Devon McCurry, and Stasha McCurry; and his 11 cherished grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172).

Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home
