Helen Joyce (Hensley) Kane

Helen Joyce Kane passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022.  She was born on July 22, 1933 to the late Calvin and Maude Hensley (Eversole) in Barbourville, Kentucky. Helen was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Jeffersonville, Indiana and a past member of the Red Hat Society. She served as the treasurer of her homeowners association and volunteered her time to the food pantry located in Jeffersonville. Helen lived a beautiful independent life and will be dearly missed by her family, friends and her church. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Eddie Higgins, and her 3 brothers and 1 sister.

In her 88 years of life, Helen welcomed 5 children, Mike Kane (Lisa) of New Albany, Indiana, Mark Kane (Karen) of Fishers, Indiana, Sherry Lawhorn (Chuck) of Jeffersonville, Indiana Kathy Paris (Keith) of Louisville, Kentucky, Ann Hutchinson (Jeff) of Lake Ozark, Missouri, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She was blessed to have an active part in the lives of her 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
