IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gregory Scott
Brooks
September 28, 1965 – November 6, 2025
Gregory Scott Brooks, a beloved husband, father, son and friend, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on September 28, 1965, in Louisville, Kentucky, Gregory made Sellersburg his home, where he lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication.
Greg was a well-respected Gas Station Manager, dedicating the majority of his career to managing Swifty gas stations until his retirement, prompted by health concerns. Earlier in his life, he enjoyed the open road as a truck driver, a passion that would echo his love for watching NASCAR races. Away from professional commitments, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life: indulging in Netflix marathons and sharing nostalgic moments with his favorite cartoon, SpongeBob SquarePants. Greg was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan.
His family was his pride and joy. Gregory is survived by his devoted wife, Rosemary Lynn Brooks. He was the cherished father of Stephanie Streets, Stacee Parrett (Chris), and Gregory Scott Brooks, and a loving stepfather to Jonathan Ballard, DeWayne Ballard (Maryann), and Tiffany Tingle (Matt). Gregory was a loving son to his step-mother, Brenda Brooks, and to his step father, John Steward, whom he held in high regard. He is also survived by his step-siblings, Amy Scott (Justin), Eric MacGeorge, John Stewart, and Billy Stewart. Gregory also leaves his special cousin Donal Logue to cherish his memory.
Gregory was preceded in death by his father, Gerold Lee Brooks, by his mother, Artiste Stewart and by his brother, Todd Brooks, who welcomed him into eternity with open arms.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172), followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 pm to honor and celebrate Gregory's life.
