Geraldine Wade, 84, passed away peacefully at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born in 1937 to the late Carl and Margaret Zimmerer in Louisville, Kentucky. Geraldine retired from National City Bank where she worked as a general teller for over 27 years. She was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Paul Campus) where she was a member of the ladies club. Geraldine often volunteered her time at the Speed Food Pantry and the Sellersburg health and rehab. When she wasn’t volunteering her time Geraldine thoroughly enjoyed quilting. She was a member of The Quilting Club. Geraldine was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Zimmerer, by her two sisters, Mary Ann Vest and Carol Brumleve and by her brother-in-law, Albert Cissell.
Survivors include her son, Claude Vest (Lisa) of Atica, Indiana, her daughters, Mary Jane Vest of Dallas, Texas, Betty Joyce Vest of Dallas, Texas, her sisters, Barbara Cissell of Louisville, Kentucky, Margi Decker of Louisville and Betty Kimpflein (William) also of Louisville.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Paul Campus) with interment to follow at St. Joe Hill Catholic Cemetery in Sellersburg. Visiation will be held at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. John Paul II Catholic Church Building Fund.
