Fayetta P. (Akers) Burns

Fayetta Pauline Burns, 91, of Borden, Indiana passed away at 11:05 P.M. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.  Fay was born on December 17, 1929 in Borden, the daughter of Ruby and Harry Akers, who preceded her in death.  On February 21, 1948, she married Paul Burns of Borden. Fay worked for Haas Cabinet Company and Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Sellersburg and was a member of the Borden Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and by her brother, Marvin Akers.

Survivors include her son, Greg Burns (Cindy) and twin daughters, Paulette Dunn (Larry Ballard) and Jeanette Sprinkle and her sister, Gwen Conaway. Fay also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren to cherish her memory.  

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Borden, Indiana. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Please follow all CDC guidelines while attending services on Tuesday. Face masks are required.
