Evelyn McRae Obituary

Evelyn P. McRae, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2020 at her home in Charlestown, Indiana. She was born at home on March 9, 1923 in Elizabeth, Indiana to the late Joseph and Esther Timberlake (Lockman). Evelyn was a homemaker and a former member of the Memphis Community Church located in Memphis, Indiana. She enjoyed puzzles, quilting and crafting. Evelyn was a very talented seamstress, creating a number of very detailed quilts for her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace McRae, by her grandsons, Brian A. Soliday, John A. Miller, by her daughter-in-law, Janie McRae and by her Son-in-law, Greg Soliday.

Survivors include her son, Loren R. McRae of Charlestown, daughters, Delores Miller of Charlestown, Virginia Allen (John) of Memphis, Cindy Soliday of Charlestown, Mary Coombs (Doug) of Charlestown, Martha Henderson (Richard) of Charlestown, sisters, Dora Seeley of New Salisbury and Betty Wortz (Wayne) of Elizabeth.

Evelyn also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren to cherish her memory.

Due to the current pandemic situation a private funeral service will be held at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
