Erma L. (Hauger) Standiford

Erma Louise (Hauger) Standiford went home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY after a short illness.  She was born on January 16, 1937 to Loren and Lottie (Shrum) Hauger.

Erma loved to travel and got to experience her first cruise in March of 2023, that had been a long-time dream of hers.  She also loved Christmas and family get togethers.  Erma would feed anyone that walked through her door, as cooking was her thing.  She hosted many family Christmases for her children and grandchildren, as well as extended family members.  Family was a huge thing for her.  Through her love for cooking and feeding people, she made many friends feel like family, helping them with family dinners. 

Erma was a registered nurse at Jewish Hospital, retiring in 1999.  She enjoyed working at the Haunted Woods each year in the concession area.  She also enjoyed going to listen to music in the outdoors and playing Bunco.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman, sisters Margaret Morris, Doris Scott, Carolyn Elliott, and Wilma Maynard, her brothers Bill, Mike and Lee Hauger.  She is survived by her children Sandy (John) Vest, Sheri (Roger) Goode, Brent (Lisa) Standiford and Steve Standiford and sister Barbara (Terry) Gilbert.  She is also survived by grandchildren Eric (Holly), Kari (Dustin), Josh, Ben (Dawn), Brian (Laura), Johnathan (Meghan), Lindsay and Blaire (Amanda), great-grandchildren Chance, Sidney, Mia, Kaeson, Kenndra, Jackson, Aidan, Cameron, Tyler, Kenzie, Maddie, Jakalynn, Brooklynn and Hadley.

Per her request, no memorial service will be held.  Expressions of sympathy may be made to Making Strides for Breast Cancer and the American Heart Association.
