Emilia (Pellegrino) Broadus

Emilia Broadus, 90, entered eternal life on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 14, 1933 to Alberto and Anna Pellegrino in Naples, Italy. She was a member of the St. John Paul II Catholic Church of Sellersburg. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and fishing. During her fishing trips, Emilia’s family fondly remembers her singing to the fish! Emilia’s green thumb allowed her many hours of enjoyment caring for her flowers and her garden. Anyone that visited Emilia’s home knew she would not let you leave without eating first. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother that will be missed by all that knew her. Emilia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bernard Ray Broadus, Sr.

Survivors include her sons, Bernard Ray Broadus, Jr.(Carol), Alberto Patrick Broadus, Ciro Alan Broadus, her daughters, Anna Maria Sellers (Richard), Carmela Ada Broadus (Joe) and her daughters-in-heart, Lara Markland and Nina Broadus. Emilia also leaves 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday April 3, 2023 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with entombment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
