Ellogene Louise Marie Everage, 83, entered eternal life on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on May 27, 1937 to the late Henry and Clara Rode (Brinkman) in Scottsburg, Indiana. Ellogene was a retired home maker and a member of the Fair Haven Baptist Church of Charlestown, Indiana. Time spent with her family was Ellogene’s greatest enjoyment. She was devoted to her Bible studies and cherished the time spent at church worshiping the Lord. She thoroughly enjoyed working in her gardens and caring for her flowers. Ellogene was a fierce competitor when it came to card and board games. Her family will forever remember the many games of Trouble, Yahtzee and Rook they shared with her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Dewey Everage, by her brothers, Melvin, Herb and Leroy Rode and by her sister, Thelma Hashman.
Survivors include her sons, Frank Everage (Kynda) of Sellersburg, Claude Everage (Judy) of Sellersburg, Carl Everage (Anna) of Sellersburg, Jeff Everage (Marijane) of Memphis, daughters, Patty Popp (Ralph) of Memphis, Janet Walls of Memphis, Jeanie Allgood (Mike) of Underwood and her sister, Doris Heath of San Diego, California. Ellogene leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild to cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Forrest Grove Cemetery in Memphis, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
