Doris A. Martin

Doris A. Martin, 82, entered eternal life on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at her home in Henryville, Indiana with her family by her side. She was born on August 2, 1939 to the late James and Cassie Bell (Higgs) in Ridgeway, Virginia. Doris was the owner of M&M Upholstery. She was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle of Jeffersonville for over 52 years. Doris enjoyed working puzzles, sewing and spending quality time with her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Bell and by her sister, Dora Smith.

Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Paul Martin of Henryville, her sons, Timothy Martin (Shelley) of Charlestown, Indiana, Joseph Martin (Melanie) of Scottsburg, Indiana, her daughters, Aridatha Greenwood (Danny) of Underwood, Indiana, Rebekah Monroe of Sellersburg, Indiana, Ruth Bryant of Henryville , Indiana, her sisters, Thelma Gatewood (Bobby) of Eden, North Carolina, and Margaret Dillon of Collinsville, Virginia, her brother-in-laws, Fred Martin of Martinsville, Virginia, Leroy Martin (Brenda) of Bowling Green, Kentucky and her sister-in-law, Brenda Bolling of Martinsville, Virginia. Doris also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Gospel Tabernacle (2000 E 10th St, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130) with interment to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Henryville, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
